Dr. Daniel James Rixen began his formal education at Chico State University where he double majored in Microbiology and Biochemistry. He continued his education at Life Chiropractic College-West and completed his State Board Examinations in Mid 1989. Dr. Rixen opened his first practice in Albany after a short one-year internship with a Chiropractor in Moraga.

Dr. Rixen has furthered his education while maintaining a practice. He has taken hundreds of hours of postgraduate Rehabilitation classes, and holds a Diplomat in Pain Management with the American Association.

In spring of 1997, Dr. Rixen moved his Albany practice to El Sobrante. Rixen Chiropractic is located at 4726 Appian Way, just next door to the Boys/Girls Club.


He has actively participated in the El Sobrante Stroll, and was the President for the El Sobrante Chamber for two consecutive years. He completed his term as President for the Rotary Club of El Sobrante after holding the position as Treasurer for a year. Dr. Rixen has been a Rotary Board Member for the past decade.

Currently, he is the Field Doctor for De Anza High School Football Team, a designation he has held for the past ten years. He really enjoys committing to the many local community activities and readily volunteers his time.

Dr. Rixen lives in El Sobrante with his wife Chrissy, and their five children - James, Kacie, Alex, Connor, and Grace.
